			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> The original Sebring entered into the automotive universe in 1995, for midsize coupes. Mechanically, it was related to the Mitsubishi Galant of the same period. Available in LX or LXi trim, the Sebring coupe came with a 163-hp, 2/5-liter V6 and a standard four-speed automatic. At the time, the vehicle&#8217;s best attributes were its sporty and purposeful exterior styling and roomy (for a coupe) interior. The headroom in the Sebring could fit basketball places, and the trunk size would fit all of their luggage. Also, for top-down driving, you certainly needed a windscreen.</p>
<p>Back in 2001, Chrysler brought out a brand new spanken Sebring sedan model, along with some returned coupes and convertibles. Just like the previous generation, the platform was shared with Mitsubishi. The most powerful selection was a 3/0 liter engine, producing 200-hp. The LXi Couple was the Sebring&#8217;s initial offering. A standard in convertibles (and LXi Sedans) was the impressive 2/7 liter, V6 thumping engine. The Sebring also offered a 2/4 liter engine. Early reviews praised the Sebring for its good looks, solid performance, competitive pricing and wide range of body styles.</p>
<p>Minor updates followed in successive years, and Chrysler shuffled the trim levels on a nearly annual basis: The familiar Sebring LX and LXi models ultimately gave way to GTC, TSi, Touring and Limited trim levels. The regular Sebring stopped in 2005; the convertible in 2006. Going top-down still meant all of the turbulence in the Sebring, unless you got a windscreen.</p>
<p>This second evolution of the Sebring was good at the start, but competitors soon introduced more compelling models. Taking the Sebring out for a test drive wasn&#8217;t pleasant; the ride was stiff and harsh. Though it wouldn&#8217;t hurt for used-car shoppers to take a look at the Sebring &#8212; especially those interested in the model-year range of the late &#8217;90s to early 2000s &#8212; it&#8217;s probably wise to consider other options before making a final decision  Despite the Sebring&#8217;s drawbacks, one will still be pleased with this car.  The Sebring will always have a fond place in car driver&#8217;s hearts.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The sporty acronym comes from Sporty, Light, and Short (or Kurz in German). The SLK R170 was a smaller and lighter version of Mercedes SL sports car. The SLK R170 was first produced in 1996, and its fans were immediate. Sales out of the gate started at 50,000 units. Though, time and other competitors moving forward aged the SLK. The car was going up directly against the Audi TT, unfavorably. Furthermore, time was dating its technology.</p>
<p>The SLK&#8217;s hard top is noticeably its best piece of engineering, while the engine is clunky. The steering was borrowed from the C-class, the recirculating ball, which wasn&#8217;t the best choice.</p>
<p>Going head-to-head against other cars in its segment, the TT Roadster, the BMW Z3, and the Alfa Romero Spider, the SLK R170 still visually is the winner. While its engine wasn&#8217;t as powerful as the others, this is preferred by North American drivers who desired relaxed driving styles.</p>
<p>The Mercedes SLK R170 was one of the first retractable hardtop convertibles. Although going with the top-down, you should still be equipped with a windscreen. This innovative hard top follows in the footstep of the Mitsubishi 3000 GT Spyder, Peugeot 206cc, Lexus SC, Mercedes SL Class, and the Chrysler Sebring.</p>
<p>the 2/3 liter Kompressor came out in 2000 to take on these initial problems and provide new improvements. This car gained extra power, different styling on the body, and improved handling. The engine fixed some of its initial roughness. Mercedes also improved the transmission, making it smooth shifting. A new six speed transmission was installed, straight from the E-class line. There was an automatic option, providing five speeds. Putting the top down makes you drown in wind, unless you have a need a windscreen. Furthermore, the chassis got a long needed upgrade with a smoother ride and safety enhancement.</p>
<p>These changes are evolutionary, not revolutionary. The Mercedes SLK R170 is still an impressive car that puts a lump in the throat.</p>

In 1996, the SLK R170 first appeared to raving fans. The initial sales started with a very respectable 50,000 units. However, time and competition aged this car. The Audi TT, its closest competitor, was starting the gain the edge. Then, it was looking stale when compared to the rest of the pack.</p>
<p>The SLK&#8217;s electrical hard top remains an interesting feature, but its engine is reviewed as rough and harsh. The steering was borrowed from the C-class, the recirculating ball, which wasn&#8217;t the best choice.</p>
<p>Making comparisons to members of its class, the TT Roadster, the BMW Z3, and the Alfa Romero Spider, the SLK wins hands down with its body lines. While its engine wasn&#8217;t as powerful as the others, this is preferred by North American drivers who desired relaxed driving styles.</p>
